While updating the line-up page I noticed, we haven't introduced our fourth band yet. So here we go: Friends from London will play Popfest Berlin as well and hopefully bring us with their jangly guitar pop a little bit summer into our house!

It's hard not to start with "Indie-pop ain't a Noise Pollution" now, but in this case it's reasonable and what should we say more...
The Pooh Sticks will hit the stage at Popfest Berlin! We are so happy to present you this indiepop legend and on top of this they will bring along Liz from The School to support them with her lovely singing voice.

We haven't updated for a while, but we're quite busy with contacting bands and fixing the line-up for Popfest Berlin 2011.

We're happy to announce that Rockformation Diskokugel will play. These guys from Darmstadt (Germany) already enjoyed the last Popfest in July, and will this time go on stage themselves with their "knallharten Diskorock". In contrast Cola Jet Set from Barcelona (Spain) will come along and play their "twee as fuck" sound. So let's get dancing!

Next Popfest Berlin is coming!

Wow, it's been three months already since Popfest Berlin 2010! We certainly had much fun organizing it and of course at the festival itself. And of course we can not resist doing it again in 2011. And because the next July is sooo far away, it will already take place in spring! Please mark your calenders for Saturday the 19th of March. We hope to see you all again there!

DJing on the second floor will start when the first band is playing.

Popfest Warm-up Party

We promised some more information about the warm-up party, so here we go:

Schwalbe / Stargader Str. 10, 10437 Berlin (just around the corner from the S-Bahn station Schönhauser Allee)

When?
Friday, July 30th
10 p.m.

What?
Liam from Amoriste will play an accoustic set! He will start around half past eleven, maybe later. Before and after our Popfest DJs will play Indiepop, Northern Soul, Shoegaze, Twee...! Oh, and admission is free!

Amoriste playing at our Warm-Up Party

Only three weeks left - we hope you're as excited as we are. And to increase the excitement even more, we're happy to announce that AMORISTE will be doing an accoustic gig at our Popfest Warm-up Party on Friday, July the 30th.

Amoriste is an up-and-coming band from the English countryside, delivering a unique brand of indie pop drawn from a mix of influences including Athlete, Elbow and The Editors. Besides building up a reputation in the London gig scene, they've received already extensive airplay in Germany with their track Berlin.

But have a listen for yourself:

Quite fitting, that their first german gig will be at Popfest Berlin! More details about the pre-party coming soon.

Please notice, that we won't send hardcover tickets. You have to leave your full name and e-mail address, so you can get in by your name at the door.
